What you need
- Your business details (address, phone, licence and GST number) and your tax rate
- The phases you usually work through, with roughly how many days each takes
- For your first project: the homeowner's name, email and phone, the site address, the contract amount and the dates
1. Sign in and check your settings
Sign in at projects.nvisin.app with the email you signed up with. Open Settings (the gear) to upload your logo and add your business details, the project number prefix, your tax rate and a welcome note homeowners see at the top of their page. Under Starter schedule, list your usual phases one per line with their length in days, for example Framing, 10. Invite your team under Users.
2. Add your first project
On Projects, click New project and add the homeowner, the site, the contract amount (with tax: what the homeowner pays) and the start and target dates. Start it with your starter schedule and the phases are laid out one after another from the start date. Adjust any phase, and choose which ones show on the homeowner's page.
3. Send the homeowner their link
On the project's Overview, copy the homeowner link, or text or email it from there. The homeowner opens it on their phone with no account. Anyone with the link can see the page, so send it only to the homeowner. You can turn the link off or make a new one at any time; the old one stops working at once.
4. Post an update each week
Click Post an update, add a few lines on the week and photos from your phone's camera or library. Save it as a draft or post it. Posted updates and their photos show on the homeowner's page, newest first.
5. Send change orders
On the project's Change orders tab, add the change, the price change before tax (negative for a credit) and any days it adds, then send it. The homeowner approves by typing their full name, or declines with a note. Approved change orders add to the revised contract total and move the target finish. Each one prints with your logo.
Common questions
What does the homeowner never see?
Internal notes, drafts, hidden phases, files you haven't shared and who on your team did what.
Can I record an approval given on paper?
Yes. An owner can record the homeowner's answer on the change order.
